Immigrants Reach Beyond a Legal Barrier for a Reunion
These photos are of Dreamers, children of immigrants without documents for this country, who were brought to the United States and never knew they were “illegal,” reuniting with their deported parents through a border wall in Nogales, Arizona.
If you have any reaction to these photos other than empathy, I don’t really want to know.

One of the proofs of the immortality of the soul is that myriads have believed it - they also believed the world was flat.

| Anonymous: Hey! I was just wondering is it possible to communicate through dreams, like with dead and people who are alive? I know it's a weird question but I'm just so curious. | ||
Hello there, anon! I’ve been starting to view dreams a little differently recently. My spiritual mentor told me that I’m viewing my dreams as significant only because I WANT them to be significant. And that this can be the case with any interest in life whatsoever. I dream about my dog that died over a year ago very frequently. And he’s usually what alerts me to the fact that I’m dreaming. I know that if I’m hanging out with Gita, my dog, then I can’t be in the waking life. It alerts me to lucidity. Gita is dead. But I see him in my dreams all the time, and most recently, I was excited because I kissed him on the nose and it was just like real life. According to my spiritual mentor, dreams are alternate dimensions. Alternate realities. And certainly dreams seem just as real as real life when you are dreaming. It’s only when you wake up that you realize they are dreams (unless you are practicing lucid dreaming, in which case - you simply begin to manipulate the dreams). I remember me and my best friend had a “shared dream” several years ago. She started to tell me about a dream she had that involved me, and I realized I had dreamed the same thing, but saw it from my perspective. We were able to discuss this the morning after. My spiritual mentor says she is able to see/communicate with her deceased parents any time she wishes through her dreams. I’m able to see my dead dog all the time. Now, skeptical persons will immediately say “SO WHAT, IT’S JUST A DREAM, IT’S ONLY IN YOUR HEAD, THAT DOESN’T MAKE IT REAL” To which I’ll respond with a quote from Albus Dumbledore: “Of course it is happening inside your head, but why on earth should that mean it is not real?” (But also keep in mind another quote from Professor Dumbledore: “It does not do to dwell on dreams and forget to live, remember that.”) |

I miss you too, Anon!! I’ve got a page worth of unaswered asks here, and I’m sorry to anyone who felt snubbed by my lack of response U_U I got really caught up in “life” - Mine and my boyfriend’s birthdays, our anniversary, being sick, my mom’s best friend (& my spiritual mentor) visiting from Texas for a week. But I think I’m reaching balance :D I just got a new cell phone, and I’m cleaning my habits up. I’m getting a second job, me and my boyfriend are approved for an apartment and moving in together August 15th. I’ve gotten all of my wigs in, and I’ll be working towards creating short films and getting my personal blog at www.thegirlwithquestions.com up and running! I think there’ll even be an amateur cooking show x) So now, I’m going through my ask box. I’ll be publishing a bunch of asks, and then trying to resume my normal tumblr usage. Hope everybody is doing well! ~Ty |

| Anonymous: what does it mean to dream of someone you've never met before? | ||
There’s a couple of different ways to interpret that… The first way is the “random generation of your mind” view, the second is a precognitive thing, you’re seeing someone from the future; and the third is that you’re communicating with someone on the astral realm. 1. Random generation: This is probably what it is. When you dream, it’s a lot like the movie Inception. Your mind generates an entire little universe, and all of the people inhabiting the universe are just different variations of you. They represent some facet of yourself. (Your fears, your fourth grade trauma, your repressed feminine side, etc.) It’s important to pay attention to how the person makes you feel, what kind of vibes you get from them, to work on interpreting what message they’re trying to give you. Babies usually represent a new opportunity, so if you have a dream that an unknown baby is dying, then you’re letting a new opportunity be snuffed out (is one possible interpretation) Another example is being stuck in an elevator with someone you’ve never met. Let’s say it’s a businessman. So we would interpret him as your career/work-related thoughts. Maybe the businessman’s outfit is all tattered and untucked, scruffy looking. Your work ethic is worn down, you’re not performing at top quality. Being stuck in an elevator means you feel stuck, your emotions are overwhelming you, you feel trapped. So perhaps in this example, you are stuck in a job you don’t like, you have started caring less about (become less professional about it) but you feel trapped by the job, career, work, etc. 2. Precognitive: [glimpsing the future] My spiritual mentor told me once that she had a dream about a man she’d never met. She didn’t remember many specifics of the dream, but she remembered him. Several years later, after she had gotten married, she was in their new bedroom (having just moved), and glanced up to ask him a question and saw his appearance in the moment and got overwhelmed by intense deja vu. She realized immediately that she had seen him in her dream a few years ago, she just didn’t realize it until she saw him in the exact same lighting/angle/etc. I’ve had several dreams where I remember people, slight features (hair color/length, body shape, etc), but couldn’t describe their facial features. They remain ambiguous upon awakening… so that’s how I understood her to have not recognized him from the dream immediately. 3. Astral Realm: [out of body] Again with my spiritual mentor, when I first started talking with her, we were trying to will ourselves to meet on the astral realm during sleep. I wasn’t having any lucidity successes, though, and I asked her in a real life conversatino once if it was possible for me to actually be meeting her on the astral realm, but I wasn’t aware of it, wasn’t lucid for it. She said yes, it was. Meaning I could have been astral traveling, but wasn’t conscious in my dream traveling of it. Point being - it’s possible to travel through the astral realm, the spiritual plane right above us. And it’s possible to meet other people who are on that astral plane (who exist in this physical plane with us). You don’t have to know the people, they don’t have to know you. But you’re both real people. You could be running into someone up there.j ——— In all likelihood, it’s the top option. The other two are “harder to swallow” unless you’re into the metaphysical stuff… Hope this helps! |
| Anonymous: After reading all the serious questions you receive, here is a more light-hearted one: How do you teach someone how to burp? :D | ||
This is something I’ve never considered hahahaha, NOT knowing how to burp? Seems so weird! But then you think, some people don’t know how to whistle, etc. So it’s definitely possible. Then I googled “how to teach someone to burp” and there’s actually some material available xD The wikihow: 4 Ways to Burp Most places seem to recommend drinking soda to encourage a burp. But what about when soda didn’t exist? Soda is a fairly recent creation of humans… So I think about babies, and how we encourage them to burp… we pat their little baby backs. I’m trying to burp right now. I have a way of pressing the back of my tongue up right in front of my punching bag thing (uvula), and it blocks all air off. I also close off my nose. This makes a little bubble of air … then I swallow that air. Then I guess I sorta flex my radical abdominal muscles, and push up from my throat? Jeez, I really don’t know how to explain it to someone that would have no understanding of the function already…. THAT IS A TOUGH QUESTION, ANON. YOU HAVE SEMI-STUMPED ME. |
